We (at Youth Central) received an astounding 267 nominations for the ConocoPhillips Youth of Distinction Awards this year, more than doubling last year’s number!
The results of the Race to Nominate are in. Schools or organizations with the highest number of nominated youth receive a cash donation from ConocoPhillips Canada. This year’s recipients are:
1st Place: Western Canada High School, 67 nominations. Prize: $1,000
2nd Place: Discovering Choices Outreach School (downtown location), 53 nominations. Prize: $750
3rd Place: Crescent Heights High School, 37 nominations. Prize: $500
While the youth steering committee hasn’t chosen the finalists and recipients yet, here is the list of names of amazing youth in Calgary that were nominated in each category. Stay tuned to our page near the end of March to see who the finalists are and their amazing stories.
