Most annoying pop songs

I used to be a HUGE fan of pop music until the summer of 2014. Once I was introduced to other genres like rock alternative and punk rock, I began to notice how annoying some of the pop songs were! Here are a few of those songs:

1. We are never ever getting back together – Taylor Swift

I absolutely love love love Taylor Swift. We share the same hair problems, her country music is amazing, and I was first introduced to Hollywood by her song “Love Story”. I have liked all her albums where the genre was country, but now she has started moving on to the pop music genre. At first it wasn’t too bad, it sounded like the usual pop songs, and then she released the song “We are never ever getting back together.” The first time I listened to it, I was a little taken aback by the huge difference between her country music and this song. Then I realized that she was talking about her ex-boyfriends. Honey, we all know that you don’t love your exes anymore. Stop spreading the hate.

2. Shake it off – Taylor Swift

As Taylor Swift released her new album, 1989, I was quite excited, because no matter how much I don’t like her music, I’m still a Swiftie at heart! The album was quite good and I had to say that my personal favourite is “Blank space”. Then I came upon “Shake it off”, and I did a double-take! This did not sound like Taylor at all. The voice was high pitched and unpleasant, and girl, stop trying to sound like someone else!
Now although I downgraded these songs of hers, I adore Taylor Swift. She is an inspiring role model, and I love the way she carries herself with such poise and grace, and she can totally rock the hipster look. Keep being yourself Taylor!

3. Come and get it – Selena Gomez

Another favourite singer and Disney star of mine is Selena Gomez. I grew up watching her in the Disney tv show “Wizards of Waverly Place” and I wanted to be exactly like her when I grew up. Her music is quite inspiring as well, especially during her days of “Selena Gomez & the Scene”. Recently, she released “Come and get it”, a song with Indian music. The song sounds like a Bollywood wannabe song. She tried to dance with a few Bollywood steps, but was unable to pull them off. She is a lovely person, but unfortunately cannot be Bollywood material. Selena is great singer and dance, but she needs to stick Hollywood and hip-hop.

4. Call me maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen

“Call me maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen is also one of the most annoying pop songs. That was the first time I had ever heard of her and it was not a very good first impression. The song is whiny and way too straight forward. It was much overplayed and actually caused me to stop listening to the radio. However, Carly is gorgeous and a really good singer, but in my opinion, she can do a lot more in her music career.
