Every summer, the Calgary Public Library helps people of all ages fight boredom while promoting reading, literature, and the arts. Some of you may remember doing reading adventures (Summer Reading Club) back in the good ol’ days of childhood. But guess what? The fun doesn’t have to stop now that you’ve matured.
Teens ages 13-17 can join Youth Read, and online program where you complete weekly challenges to be eligible to win awesome prizes. Free books, gift cards, weekly bonus prizes, or the grand prizes ($250, $150, $75) could be yours if you participate.
Youth Read isn’t just about reading! Yes, each week reading is one of the challenges, but there are also challenges that ask you to write, listen to music, draw, and be overly creative and imaginative.
