It’s rare to come across an artist that is as diverse in his artistry as is Dedos.
Vancouver-based Nelson “Dedos” Garcia is an animator, concept artist, and a founding member of the hip-hop group Rascalz. He’s also the recipient of a 2002 Juno award for his album artwork and a seasoned muralist whose artwork can be found around Vancouver. Some of his other notable work includes character design for Nintendo’s Punch-Out!! and work with artists such as k-os and Avril Lavigne. Now for the first time, he’s bringing his artwork here to Calgary.
On the intersection of 4 St and 17 Ave SW, you’ll notice his new mural in the works. Painted in monochrome, this gorgeous artwork shows a swan ballerina and her dance partner, a wolf.
