Create change globally and locally

I am a girl in Grade 11, and I have access to education. Everyday I get the opportunity to read new literature, enrich my knowledge regarding chemicals, and physics, and am able to enjoy myself through my art class. I took school for granted, but in reality it is a luxury. In a society that has come so far, there are many children out there who do not have access to simple schooling.

Fact: 31 million girls are still out of school

Free the Children is an organization that strives to empower youth to create change for the better, and diminish global issues such as accessibility to education, clean water, and health security. They create alternative income, and food security. These five pillars are interconnected.

We, the youth, can create change through small acts, and make a huge difference. Today, as I am writing this blog post, I am hoping to create change through raising awareness regarding global issues, and inspire you to take action and be part of this ongoing global movement.

BE PART OF THE CHANGE? How?

This April 16th be part of the We are Silent Campaign! For 24 hours go silent for the millions of girls who have been silenced in the face of harsh conditions such as poverty, and the exploitation and denial to their basic human rights.

“We realize the importance of our voices only when we are silenced.”
– Malala Yousafzai

I'm a grade 11 student who is passionate about creating change towards a better world. Art and swimming are two hobbies that I hold dearly. I enjoy travelling the world to experience new culture, and new food. Also, I believe movies are never complete without popcorn.
