With the recent release of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, war has been declared on its rival. DC, on the other hand, released the first teaser of much hyped Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice – however, this was shown only at the San Diego Comic Con. But a few fans uploaded cell phone recorded videos of the teaser, and I must agree, the teaser looked FANTASTIC! It took the excitement up a couple of notches, and now I cannot wait till 2016 arrives. In the meanwhile, check out a spoof video created by How It Should Have Ended.
Marvel’s Trump
Marvel’s next major release, Avengers: Age of Ultron, brings back the ensemble cast of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, among many others. The first look seems promising as a war-like situation is depicted with the ultimate villain, Ultron. DC, following Marvel’s footsteps, is looking to establish a Cinematic Universe- a Justice League movie is in the works, set to be released in 2017.
While DC is taking the “slow and steady” route, Marvel plans to release seven movies in the next three years! Talk about fighting fire with fire! Check out IGN to see the exact release dates!
DC: Not too far behind!
Being a DC fan, I’m highly anticipating the release of Dawn of Justice. The casting of Ben Affleck, although much criticized, seems apt to me. Over the past month, many pictures from the sets have been leaked, and Affleck seems to have nailed the role of Bruce Wayne. What remains is to see him in action as the Caped Crusader! Recently, images of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel were leaked from the sets, and do they look promising! Gal Gadot has been roped in to play the Amazonian warrior princess, Wonder Woman, who looks absolutely astounding and very much like a warrior she is supposed to be! Now that I have evoked DC fans’ imaginations, I shall resume waiting with bated breath, till the day “Dawn of Justice” graces theaters worldwide.
Regardless of who wins, one thing is guaranteed- it will be a treat to superhero and comic book worldwide.
