A fro-yo like no other… Qoola!

LogoGuess how I spent my Saturday morning? At a time when I would normally be sleeping, I was at Market Mall. Why? I was having chocolate frozen yogurt, a smoothie, and a waffle for breakfast. This wasn’t just any frozen yogurt, smoothie, or waffle. I was at the grand opening of Qoola Frozen Yogurt Bar! In fact, the Market Mall location is the first to be opened in Alberta!

If you like frozen yogurt, this is THE place to go. If you like food, this is THE place to go. If you are ANYONE, this is THE place to go. Any other place serving frozen treats, I would have been disgusted with myself for consuming that quantity of food and sugar so early. Luckily, Qoola isn’t like those other  places.

I’ll start with their three values, which are actually represented by those three colourful, fruity looking, Q-ish shapes that make the logo:

  1. Health -> Have no guilt. For health freaks, dieters, and anyone who cares about their body and health, you don’t need to have a single regret after indulging at Qoola. There treats are made with fresh yogurt, rather than gross powder stuff that other places use. This makes Qoola’s fro-yo contain hundreds of millions of probiotic cultures more per gram!!! Insane! If that hasn’t convinced you, what about this: Qoola is kosher, gluten-free, ultra high in probiotics, and has no-sugar-added and sorbet options!!! And yet, Qoola is still working. They are building an organic line to further promote a healthy living style!
  2. Environment -> Again, no guilt, no regret, just yummy food. (REALLY yummy food). All those utensils and cups and napkinsSplash-Main-Health-Environment-Community that normally become friends with the garbage can, are instead biodegradable! Furthermore, no need to use a new cup each time. Qoola’s cups are dishwasher safe, so wash ’em up and use it again! (and get 25 cents off!).
  3. Community -> Qoola doesn’t just forget about that 25 cents! No, when you save that 25 cents, they donate that amount to the childrens’ hospital. Now THAT is AMAZING! Of course, that’s already more than enough, but they also donate a substantial amount to Big Brothers Big Sisters! When you pay the fair price for the most amazing fro-yo you’ve ever had, some of that goes towards charity. So you should be proud! Qoola should be super proud!

Along with those three central themes, Qoola has 6 statements that they follow. I won’t go in depth, as most are essentially outlined in the three categories I mentioned above.

  1. Pure heart & Pure body Pure intent, no shortcuts. This is a way of living, not just a brand.
  2. Qoola loves to serve! Us, you, and the community as a whole! Charity is a big part of their business.
  3. No powder, always fresh! Forget about gross powder alternatives. Qoola is REAL and FRESH
  4. We go au natural Nutritional facts and ingredients are open, plus they’re kosher and gluten-free!
  5. Qoola cares! They don’t take shortcuts when it comes to our environment.
  6. Oh Canada! Qoola is proudly Canadian, as it all started in Vancouver, and is now spreading across our home and native land!

SO WHY SHOULD YOU GO TO QOOLA?!?!?!

The reasons are infinite! As a youth, this is the place for something YUMMYHEALTHYPURE, and AWESOME! What more could you ask? Qoola has 10 locations at the moment, and they hope to have 15 by the end of the year! Now that there’s one right in Calgary at Market Mall, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t go. Now!!! Self-serve fro-yo (tons of original flavours, plus the option to swirl them!), endless toppings (cheesecake bites anyone? how ’bout brownie? kiwi?), and Ghiradelli syrups, plus warm belgian waffles, and the option to blend your fro-yo and fruit into a smoothie by adding juice! GO THERE! NOW! NOW! For the Grand Opening, there was a looooong line, a CFL football player, and everyone from toddlers to grandmas. Add to that audience. Qoola refuses to take shortcuts or comprise with the integrity of their company, and the only shortcut you should be taking is the one that gets you to Market Mall the quickest.

It all soon became this. But the cup is dishwasher safe and so its life is not yet over! MORE FRO-YO!!!

Hmmm... So I'm supposed to summarize myself in a couple sentences? What do they think I am?!?!?! Normal?!?!?! I'm Julia, and I like doing all I can to be unique and not to be a grain of sand on a mile long beach. You'll notice quickly that I'm quite an advocate for mental health and positivity. So yeah. Hope you enjoy my posts :)
