The Global Youth Summit (GYS) is an exhilarating annual one-day event for Calgary and area and brings together like-minded students take local action towards challenges that affect the planet. Meet passionate people, create new friendships and learn how to be an active global citizenship through several exciting and interactive workshops that will start your engine to creating a better world.
Global Youth Summit will be presented by the Canadian Red Cross, YMCA Calgary and S.C.R.E.A.M (Social and Community Responsibility through Education, Arts and Music), an awesome group of driven youth that plan to inspire and engage youth to take on global issues. The Global Youth Summit is also a part of Youth Week Calgary, where there will be over 50 events around the city for youth.
I was privileged to be part of the exciting S.C.R.E.A.M group to have organized the GYS 2011 and it was a total blast! I met inspirational and exciting people and learned how youth can change the world for the better. It was a youth summit to articulate ideas and create community action plans to address local problems linked to the global issues
