I am sherlocked for Sherlock

If you understood my title or are wanting to know what I’m talking about, this article is for you! I finished the first two seasons of sherlockBBC’s hit show Sherlock at the end of December. Luckily, I only had to wait four days for the Season 3 premiere, unlike others who weren’t so lucky and had to wait two years. The show is very interesting because it only has three episodes a season, but they are an hour and a half long each, which makes it very easy to catch up however it is disappointing to know that Season 3 is already all done and I have to wait now for Season 4! I did cheat a bit and live streamed each episode because it already aired in England. The official North American release date is Jan 19, so don’t worry, you haven’t missed it. You can still catch up with the first six episodes and watch the new season on television.

This action-packed and hilarious show stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock the great detective, who has recently taken up crime solving to get over his drug addiction, and Martin Freeman as John Watson his ex-army doctor assistant. Benedict is sarcastic, intelligent and humorous, he does Sherlock great justice. In fact

he reminds me of the Doctor from another famous BBC show called Doctor Who! Martin Freeman is by far one of my favorite actors, he takes on the role as Watson greatly, and he is very entertaining to watch on screen; he is most famous for playing Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit movies.

The show stays incredibly true to the Sherlock novels written by Arthur Conan Doyle; so much so that even some of the lines are

the same as in the books. But there is also a huge twist, the show is completely modern. It is definitely not a boring old history show because it is set in the 2000s, so the crimes they are solving and the language they use are more up-to-date. The fact that Mark Gatiss, who is co-writer of the show, actually plays Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock’s older brother, is amazing because we really get to see his character unfold and see his ideas come to life.

I highly suggest you go check out this show, I guarantee you will quickly become a fangirl and will want to come back to 221B Baker Street every week to catch the next episodes of Sherlock!
