Need a job? Youth Week’s summer hiring fair is here to help!

We all know looking for a summer job can be difficult; going around town with your resume can get tiring and tedious real fast. Luckily, Calgary’s 14th Annual Summer Hiring Fair is fast approaching during these first days of Youth Week. Hosted by the City of Calgary Youth Employment Centre (check out their website for more great job resources!), it’s a great  event jam-packed with supercool employers who can’t wait to meet you! I attended the fair last year during my search for a job, and it was completely rewarding. Not only did I find out about tons of employers who I hadn’t even thought of previously, but it was a great opportunity for me to break out of my shell and really push for a place in the workforce.

This year’s Hiring Fair features 5,000 jobs for youth aged 15-24, from IKEA Calgary to Shakers Fun Centre to Town Shoes. You’re sure to find several jobs of interest, so throw on some nice clothes, print off a few resumes and come on down with the goal of getting an interview (or winning an iPad; there’s that too!).

When: Tuesday, April 17, 2012      1:30pm – 6:00pm

Where: Big Four Building, Stampede Park

Cost: Free!

Before you go, pick out your top choices for employers (you can find the list of those attending the Hiring Fair here) and be ready to impress!

My name is Vicky, and I love reading, skiing, shopping (typical), and field hockey. Blogging is a bit of a challenge because I tend to go off on rants quite often, so I guess it's a good thing I live for challenges. I also have quite the passion for Gossip Girl, but that's perhaps a little less admirable.
