I am writing this blog post this week because my absolute favorite YouTuber, Miranda Sings, is coming to do a live show in Calgary! She will be here on October 23 at MacEwan Hall at the University of Calgary for a night full of comedy, magic and of course, singing.
Miranda Sings is a character on YouTube played by the lovely Colleen Ballinger, who is famous for her iconic “singing voice” and hilarious sarcasm. Â If you are looking to watch someone serious, I suggest you look somewhere else. Contrary to Miranda, Colleen is actually an amazing singer who happens to be the vocal coach of Ariana Grande. She was inspired to create Miranda from seeing all of the really bad covers that people had put on YouTube as a way to parody them and show people what not to do, but after a while, her vision changed. Miranda Sings is an outrageous girl with a funny accent and some interesting habits. Some people do not understand the comedy or value behind her videos and find her quite annoying, but I am obsessed with her. I love to walk around and talk like her and put on an act around my friends. I suppose her videos are an aquired taste but I assure you, they will keep you entertained. I love Miranda Sings! One correction: Colleen Ballinger is not Ariana Grande’s vocal coach. They are friends, and they pretended, as a joke, that Miranda (not Colleen) is Ariana’s vocal coach. Have fun at her show!
