Are you one of those folks that wanted to try a “First Person Shooter” in real life, but Laser Tag just wasn’t doing you justice? Have you searched far and wide to try to find the best paintball place near your city?
If you have a car and don’t mind driving for a bit, then I recommend Capture The Flag Outdoor Cochrane! This place is owned by a really nice family, and they have over 20 different courses! They even have all you can eat hot dog BBQ and crystal powdered drinks!
They are always open from 9AM to 10PM and a ton of guns available to rent out. Typically games cost $7, and paintballs (plus gun rental) range from $18 up to $200! If that is a little too much for you, then you can join in a group of 25+ and save $7 for the game fee. However, this place always has great deals and coupons online; so if you ever plan to paintball, then stock up on those coupons!
A few concerns I have with the place is the small space and area where you get equipment or more paintballs; when it is super busy in that area, there is ultimately no space to walk around! Their masks also tend to fog up, despite the fog spray you can put on it. If you find yourself going to paintball often, I recommend just investing in a good mask (out of all the equipment you can buy).
Overall, the courses are interesting and fun: from forest areas, to tire-filled areas and even a ‘junkyard’ with old cars! You can always find somewhere fun to play at the facilities. Pricing is not too bad for the amount of things you get, but buying extra paintballs can raise your bill quite high!
For those who have never tried paintballing, I recommend going with a group of friends and driving out to Cochrane–you can always stop by at the ice cream shop, and you’ll have a blast playing in their facilities!
