My Sled Island picks! Part 2

Yesterday I posted my Sled Island picks for Wednesday and Thursday.

Today I’ll be sharing my picks for the last two days of Sled Island, Friday and Saturday.

Friday, June 22

Start your Friday off by watching No You Hang Up at the National Music Centre at 4 p.m. Stick around and watch Bel Riose, Dirty Spells before heading to Olympic Plaza for 7 p.m. to catch Wake Owl‘s pop folk tunes. Stay at Olympic Plaza to watch even more Timber Timbre (yes, again!) and then see Feist.

No You Hang Up – Don’t Call Me (release)  – No You Hang Up are a hometown indie pop band that’ll excite you with their enthusiasm.

Wake Owl – Gold – Wake Owl is an alt folk band from Vancouver.

Feist – How Come You Never Go There – Feist is a singer-songwriter who spent her youth in Calgary. You may know her from the 2007 “1, 2, 3, 4” iPod Nano commercial.

Saturday, June 23

Make sure not to miss The Dudes at Olympic Plaza at 6:30 p.m. and then head to Undermountain to catch Trash Island‘s last show ever and Greyscreen or go to Theatre Junction Grand and watch How To Dress Well.

The Dudes – Girl Police – The Dudes are possibly one of the best indie rock bands to come out of Calgary in the past few years. You do not want to miss them at Sled Island this year!

Trash Island – Halibut VS Haddock  – These young rockers play a catchy mix of  lo-fi, jangly garage pop.

Greyscreen – Army With Banners – Local artist Kevin Stebner is using his gameboy to make some unreal catchy tunes.

How To Dress Well – Suicide Dream 2 – How To Dress Well is Tom Krell’s experimental pop project.

These are just a few of my suggestions so make sure to check out the full schedule here. Happy Sledding!
