Stampede 2012 Food Binge: Saltspring Island Noodle Stir Frys

Name of Food: Saltspring Island Noodle Stir Frys

Where to Buy: On the Midway, near the front of the food area closest to the main entrance. It’s next to the BMO Centre!

Cost: $8 for a small box, $10 for the large (which is the better deal)

What makes it worthwhile: YUM! These noodles are probably the best thing I ate at Stampede. They’re the healthiest things at Stampede, and they might be better than the restaurant food in the park. They boast that they have the freshest vegetables and that they don’t cook in oil. They also have a gluten free and a vegetarian option! I tried the Thai Sweet Chili dish with Chicken + Vegetables; a sweet and spicy Thai sauce with lime and garlic.

It wasn’t all that spicy to me, but the sauce was sweet with a slight kick to it. It was amazing, and I was surprised how good it tasted. It might be a bit pricey for a meal, but for Stampede food it was quite reasonable. I shared with two other guys and we all enjoyed it! So I’m pretty sure a single person could finish the large box and be content for a few hours. Perhaps I’m not a huge fan of deep fried stuff, but I am a fan of good food. Definitely give this a try when you find yourself famished!
