Things to do at the Calgary Zoo: Spotlight on Grizzlies

This year, the Calgary Zoo has been featuring various animals every couple months through special events and programs. July and August 2011 will be highlighting a Spotlight on Grizzlies, which includes a variety of events of interest all summer long:

  • Spotlight on Grizzlies Activity Zone (the week of Monday, July 11th) – learn all kinds of fun facts about bears from Calgary Zoo volunteers
  • Breaking of the Hugging World Record (Saturday, August 13th) – an attempt to break the world record for the most hugs in 24 hours by hugging the bear mascot
  • Teddy Bear Picnic (Saturday, August 13th/Sunday, August 14th) – bring your friends and family for a day full of face painting, lawn bowling, horse shoes, entertainment and more!

Add some family fun to your summer by visiting the Calgary Zoo and participating in these limited-edition grizzly bear programs. You can learn more about the Spotlight on Grizzlies promotion by visiting the Calgary Zoo’s website.

My name is Vicky, and I love reading, skiing, shopping (typical), and field hockey. Blogging is a bit of a challenge because I tend to go off on rants quite often, so I guess it's a good thing I live for challenges. I also have quite the passion for Gossip Girl, but that's perhaps a little less admirable.
