What to See in YYC: Weekend Preview January 30 – February 1, 2015

Second semester is starting up again but that doesn’t mean the fun of exam break (the actual break part not the exams) has to end! Now is a great time to get to know some new people or hang with some old friends at some awesome events happening around Calgary! This weekend especially is not the weekend to stay in!

1) Form(al) Economics by Grier Edmundson

For the art lovers, history buffs or those who love a thoughtful piece, Grier Edmundson’s ‘Form(al) Economics’ combines a combination of Monopoly money, priceless antiques and several personal objects in several abstract art pieces to highlight and question how we define value.

Where: The New Gallery (208 Centre St. S.E.)

2) Dreaming Now

Vertigo theater presents “Dreaming Now”, plunging audience members into the world of a boy in the age of our digital overload – his dreams fragmented and pixelated still connecting him to others. How would our world be different if we were all constantly connected even in sleep?
