Unknown Goldies of our Childhood

You ever have those songs you remember hearing on the radio in the 2000s but didn’t have Siri to tell you the name? Same. Here’s a list of some goldies you might’ve missed in the past decades or so. And yes feel free to take out those old Hannah Montana posters and take out your easy bake oven. 10 “kinda-bops” of the 2000s that just hit hard. It’s time to reminisce.

1) Complicated – Avril Lavigne

“Chill out what’cha yelling for?” A song by the iconic Pop Punk Queen of the early 2000s.

Avril Lavigne our kween <3

2)Numb – Linkin Park

“I’ve become so numb..I can’t feel you there”. A rock masterpiece which reached #11 on Billboard Top 100.

3) Eenie Meenie – Sean Kingston (feat. Justin Bieber)

“You can’t make up your mind mind mind mind mind..” It’s so hard not to simp. 🙁

4)Airplanes – B.o.B (feat. Hayley Williams)

I was listening on “shuffle play” from my liked songs one day and discovered this song again. Legit became my #1 song on my Spotify Wrapped for 2020, literally wish I was kidding.. seriously a godsend.

This breaks my heart </3

5)Somebody That I Used To Know – Gotye (feat. Kimbra)

He released a really good song, then just dipped – he’s really just somebody that we used to know.

6)The Lazy Song – Bruno Mars

The music video’s such a vibe ngl. It was #1 on Billboard hits on April 19th 2013.

If yk, yk

7)Apologize – OneRepublic (feat. Timbaland)

Tbh I liked the song without Timbaland.. but that’s how it got famous internationally. Its sad af in both versions, but it will forever hold a place in my heart. The best breakup song of the century. 100/10

8)The Monster – Eminem (feat. Rihanna)

“Going coo-coo and kooky as Kool Keith” RiRi’s featured so it better be good xx if you like this song, one of their earlier collabs was through “Love the Way You Lie”. “The Monster” stayed for 15 weeks on Billboards’ Hot 100 chart.

Poor Eminem :(

9)The A Team – Ed Sheeran

Guys, he’s not bad, you gotta stop throwing shade at this beautiful lil English red-head. “The worst things in life come free to us” relatable AF, no? Enjoy his angelic voice through this beautiful song.

Well they’re both decent ig

10) The One That Got Away – Katy Perry

How could we ever forget our queen Katy, sure, some songs are overrated.. but I, myself got inspired to mention this when I was watching a Tiktok and desperately went searching for this song. I found it, I’m so proud!!

As she should

A LIL’ BONUS: Send Me On My Way – Rusted Root

That one song in every movie and Treehouse show where they kept saying “Omelet”. You’ll remember, a foolproof song.

That’s all from me! If you enjoyed this, leave a comment so I know what to blog more/less of. As always, if you have any comments, suggestions, or bright ideas, shoot me an email at ranyabajaj1@gmail.com
